Central Park, Here I Come!

It has been quite some time since I've run in the city without having to have a race in order to do so. Central Park is such a great place to run in primarily because there is so much park. You have the 6 mile outer loop, a 4 mile shorter loop using the transverses, a 1.57 loop around the reservoir, and even a trail run just outside the reservoir. Perhaps, best of all is the comradarie amongst all the runners there, and trust me, there are plenty of runners. Who knows, perhaps 1 day I will be able to live near here where I could call Central Park my home base training camp.

Today, my Asics Gel-Nimbuses and I took to Central Park in the morning. I did two full loops plus. 12.2 miles to be exact. Took em nice and easy too. 10 minute per mile average. Did this to work on my slow-twitch muscle fibers which are a good way to establish a base for longer races.

I am still on the fence about the marathon. Not sure if I want to put it on my "to do list for life" yet.
