Where Art Thou, Wednesday Nighters?

I ran from my house through the 'Gardens' tonight before making it to the usually meeting spot tonight. I booked. I thought I was going to be late, and miss everyone.

Instead, and Scott was the only brave soul out there tonight.... Wazzup? Where be my fellow peeps? Where'd you all go?
I have to admit though, I was not at last Wednesday's run...Then again, I was at the previous two Weds, and no one else showed up either though...... Boo.

Anyway, Scott and I actually had good runs. We paced in between 8:30-9:30 min per mile and did about 5 miles or so, including 4 loops in the surprisingly, not-so-congested Victory Field tonight.

This coming Saturday, I'm going to be volunteering in the NYRR Women's Mini-Marathon. I need to do this, to aid in the completion of my requirements for next year's NYC Marathon.
I have to admit, I am pretty stoked! I had a lot of fun helping out in the Forest Park Classic run not too long ago, and am looking forward to this Saturday too. To add to the festive atmosphere, our chief emailed me the other day about possibly running to CP from our house. That's 10.6 miles door-to-finish. There will be 10,000 women running towards me in the race. Can't say I've ever drawn that much popularity. Ain't going to complain about it either!

Speaking of the Forest Classic, Scott ran the race and did very well (Kudos dude!). Unfortunately though, his pic didn't turn up anywhere. Perhaps he did run faster than my shutter could snap off the picture!

Anyway, the Mini-Marathon should be a good one. Depending on how many miles we actually do, I may or may not run on Sunday (Quantuum). Still out to lunch on this one. May go down to the wire, a la Clinton vs. Obama.

Here now is a little ditty about that Women's Mini-Marathon race, courtesy of the New York Road Runners, that fine institution that I am happy to be a part of. :-)

Look for me in the race. I'm not too stoked about the predicted heat :-(

You'll do fine. Just pay close attention to your body, don't miss any water stops.
I'll be cheering you on if I see you. I'll be somewhere along the east side.
