Yankee Stadium

Having scored tickets at the office, I took a half-personal day and drove up the 76.7 miles up to get my son to take him to see the new Yankee Stadium for the first time ever.

Despite the loss, last night had to be one of the best nights I ever had with my son. The look of wonderment on his face (actually mine too) as we stepped inside the new "palace" was endless.

I was the paparazzi last night. I took over 300 pictures, and could not get enough. I totally fell in love with this stadium, and am even more the jealous Mets fan than ever before (LOL...just kidding...slightly).

The seats were undeneath the upper deck over hang, so we lucked out and remained dry throughout. (Too bad becuase I could have left the Glad lawn & leaf bags at home, LOL)

In short, this stadium is an absolute "shrine" to their team. I was delighted by the pictures located above every concession area. I was amazed by Monument Park. I was bowled over by the Great Hall, and finally, totally blown away by the Yankee Museum. Even if one is a Red Sox fan, the richness of history at this new park must not be overlooked. It is truly like a slice from Cooperstown itself.

Unfortunately, having said all of that, I still think the Yankee organization is gouging its fans with the price of the tickets, concessions, etc, but if you could get past all of that, what is left is a gem of a ballpark.

Thanks a million for giving me this opportunity. It was a great time (despite the outcome of the game).

The 300+ photos are on my Kodak Gallery. The link is below. Note this is a big library so it may take a few minutes (anywhere from 3-10 minutes).
