Great day yesterday! Lost 2 pounds! A lot of people say that if you lose weight too fast that it will come back just as fast. I disagree. I'd be nuts to think I wont have off days, but losing weight is losing weight. I just need to figure a way to curb my apetite. Five meals a day is better than the 3 standard meals of greater quantity.
My run this afternoon was interesting. This mildly heavy-set woman with a fake tan, reeking of cocoa-butter gets on the treadmill to my left and starts her run. And what a run. She sounded like she was having an orgasm. It was loud, the women on the recumbent bikes in front of me turned around and stared. This didn't bother "Ms. Cocoa" at all, as she kept right on grunting, crying, sighing, yelling out "ooh yeah!" so that the people in the sauna 200 feet away could here. She was also incorrigibly humming out song verses from whatever the hell was playing out of her iPod. And to further complement her cacophony of mating calls, she was throwing her fisted hands up in the air as if she were missing a few chromosones. I have to admit, I nearly laughed. She really sounded like she was having sex with the treadmill! At one point, I even turned down the music on my own iPod to hear her grunt. It was ridiculous! I felt like my treadmill was next to a casting couch in a porno movie. Good thing, she wasn't good looking, or else I might have had an embarrassing situation of my own. LOL. Perhaps, as a treat,

I did 4 miles, and about to do another 3 tonight. Will I lose weight today again? Who knows. Whatever the case, I do know this. It gets harder and harder the more I lose. Once I get back under 160, that's when the real deal begins.
I said no to Blueberry Pie, Macadamia Nuts, and I also walked away from the temptation of having a chocolate bar from the vending machine. I will run again tonight, and dinner afterwards will consist of a salad, and something else, I don't know. For Dessert, I will be having a Skinny Cow Fudge Bar. They taste good and at only 90 calories, how can I go wrong?

After seeing this chart in Runner's World, I've decided to modify my workout types as such so that it's more in line with my own thresholds:
Therefore, here are my own thresholds:
Very Easy: 11:30 & up per mile
Easy: 10:30 - 11:30 per mile
Training: 8:45 - 10:30 per mile
Tempo: 8:00 - 8:45 per mile
Intervals: up to 8:00 per mile
I've already modified my workouts this year to conform to this rule.

My next race is in 2 weeks and 5 days. It is called the Gridiron Classic. This will
be the 3rd time I run it. More details to follow.
And now for the diet. Well today, I started out great, but faltered in the evening. "Boboli" anyone? Despite the minimal calories I ingrested throughout the day, I did eat almost an entire 10 inch pie. Even still, I somehow managed to stay under the caloric limit for today. With this and the 6 miles worth of exercise prove enough to prevent me from gaining weight? Might I even lose weight? Tomorrow morning should be an interesting weigh-in for sure!
